The optic equipment, installed in 1923, comprised an AGA 187,5mm focal distance, Dalen acetylene gas revolving pedestal with a weight-driven clockwork mechanism for rotating the lens.
The four panel lens provided two 21 000 cd white flashes every ten seconds and the range of the light was about 30km
In 1956 this apparatus was replaced by an AGA 187,5mm automatic Dalen acetylene gas apparatus, which employed an automatic mantel exchanger
During 1980 the acetylene gas pedestal was replaced by an AGA PRB 42 sealed-beam, rotating, electric beacon
The automatic acetylene gas pedestal was donated to the Swakopmund Museum
